Journal / Battersea Power Station; Layering style into London’s most iconic redevelopment
Over the past three years, Decoroom has had the privilege of furnishing more than 70 units within the landmark Battersea Power Station development — from expansive six-bedroom penthouses to sleek studio apartments. This has been more than a project; it’s been an evolving creative partnership, one that has allowed us to bring our signature styling into one of London’s most exciting residential destinations. As a specialist in furnishing prime and super-prime multi-unit developments, we’ve refined a design model that ensures consistency, quality, and individuality across every property — and nowhere has this been showcased more fully than here.

A blank canvas,
a unique brief
For this phase of the project, the client invited us to take a more involved role in shaping the look and feel of the interiors. This meant working beyond furniture and layout — we were given the freedom to introduce layers through curtaining, colour palettes, and even wallpaper.
It’s the kind of creative brief we thrive on. While we always work closely to the client’s objectives, this approach allowed us to create bespoke schemes that reflected the architectural language of each building within the development, while still retaining that unmistakable Decoroom signature.
Tailored by architecture
Within the iconic Boiler House — the heart of the original power station — we leaned into the building’s industrial heritage. Think: exposed brick, steel-framed windows, and soaring ceilings.
Our design response was to craft a look we call industrial luxe. Rusts and deep greens became the palette, with green velvet sofas, matte black fixtures, and hand-selected vintage finds that nodded to the building’s legacy while grounding the space in contemporary comfort. The result? A bold, textural scheme that felt completely at home within the historic shell.
Frank Gehry buildings
In contrast, the apartments designed by world-renowned architect Frank Gehry required a more contemporary approach. These homes, with their unique footprints and fluid lines, called for softer forms and a more tonal palette. Here, we introduced modern sculptural furniture, layered neutrals, and abstract artwork — a calm, curated response to Gehry’s dynamic architectural language. The spaces feel fresh and forward-thinking, yet totally liveable.
The model that works
Decoroom has become a trusted partner for developers working on prime multi-unit projects, thanks to our proven ability to scale our service while keeping each home distinctive and market-ready. At Battersea, this approach has helped transform a vast number of apartments into beautifully finished homes that make an immediate impact.
The result
Across every unit, our focus remained the same: to create homes that resonate. Whether industrial and characterful or clean and contemporary, each apartment tells a different story — always considered, always cohesive, always memorable. Decoroom continues to set the standard for premium staging and furnishing across London’s most prestigious addresses.
