Journal / Campden Hill Place; Behind the Scenes – How Decoroom Brought 12,000 sq ft to Life
In the rarefied world of super prime property, every detail matters. Nowhere was that more evident than at Campden Hill Place, a striking, double-fronted villa tucked away in a discreet gated cul-de-sac in Notting Hill. With nearly 12,000 sq ft of living space spread across five expansive floors, this £30 million residence demanded not just furnishing, but a complete creative reimagining.

Size does matter
Decoroom, known for its high-end staging and elegant interiors, approached this project with both ambition and precision. But unlike traditional homes, Campden Hill Place presented a unique challenge: scale. The sheer volume and variety of spaces—from a double-height swimming pool and grand entrance hall to a private cinema, music room, yoga studio, and treatment suite—meant that conventional furnishings simply wouldn’t be enough.
We needed a tailored approach, down to the last stitch. The creative process began with in-depth spatial planning and bespoke design work. Custom joinery and upholstery were developed to address both the functional needs and aesthetic vision of each room. Swivel sofas were crafted to anchor oversized lounges, extra-long rugs were woven to define vast open-plan areas, and cinema seating was engineered to bring comfort and luxury into the lower-ground entertainment zone.
Made to measure
Every piece was either made to measure or carefully sourced to complement the villa’s architectural features—marble floors, ebonised woodwork, soaring ceilings. To match these bold materials, we brought in extra-large scale artworks, selected for both their visual impact and their ability to hold space in the voluminous rooms. These statement pieces were essential in areas like the double-height pool and entrance hall, where traditional decor would have risked getting lost.
The overarching vision for Campden Hill Place was one of expansive elegance. The palette was refined, the materials rich, and the detailing meticulous. But perhaps most importantly, the design honoured the villa’s natural grandeur—never overwhelming it, only enhancing it.
This was not just about staging a property; it was about creating a sense of possibility. A home of this scale and calibre demands imagination, and at Campden Hill Place, Decoroom delivered just that: a vision brought to life through craft, creativity, and absolute attention to scale.
